But outside on a chilly night in the capital it was gold that dominated –and plenty of it – as Gemma Arterton and Mollie King led the way prior to a special screening of forthcoming film The Director: An Evolution In Three Acts.

Arriving alone, actress Gemma Arterton stood out in a gold trench as she made her way towards the cinema, where heiress and campaigner Jemima Khan was preparing for a Q&A with the film’s Brooklyn based director, Christina Voros.
The 28-year-old star matched her sweeping coat with a tan coloured handbag, while the remainder of her outfit was comparatively low-key.
Unlike Mollie’s excessive play on gold, Gemma opted for a simple cream sweater, skinny jeans and trendy loafers ahead of her night out with fellow VIPs and Gucci ambassadors.
Voros gained unprecedented access to the Gucci Empire through her close friendship with actor and former NYU classmate James Franco, whose working relationship with the fashion house dates back to 2008, when he signed up to be the face of Gucci fragrances – amongst them Made To Measure.
The film, which premiered at Tribeca in 2013, places the spotlight on Giannini, the usually media shy designer who admits she yearned for a simple life before embarking on a career in the cut-throat world of haute couture.
‘The project came to me through James (Franco),’ Voros told The Huffington Post. ‘He and I had been working together for a number of years and, actually, he had been working with Gucci for the same period of time, looking back.
‘And he had been at an event in Rome with Frida (Giannini). Gucci and Frida helped restore a print of ‘La Dolce Vita,’ and he was at that event.
‘He was coming to Paris to direct the first feature that I shot for him called ‘The Broken Tower,’ and he showed up on set and was like, ‘I think we should do a movie on Frida.’’

With their generous cut the flared bottoms wildly flapped about her ankles, while their silky material ensured they shimmered beneath the overhead lights.
The singer – who recently launched her own Spring/Summer 2014 range through high street fashion chain Oasis – matched her trousers with a semi-sheer top through which the outline of her lingerie was evident.
Mollie continued a memorable gold theme with strappy gold heels and distinctive handbag – but she wasn’t alone in opting for the bold colour choice ahead of Tuesday’s screening.
